Describe your business:
We are an independent ophthalmic and
dispensing optician whose main priority is
to take care of our patient’s eyes.
Who has been your greatest inspiration?
My parents, for bringing me up to believe
that I could achieve whatever I set my mind
to, Phil Cross FBDO, my mentor whilst
training as a Dispensing Optician, for his
calm and supportive management style,
John, my fiancé, for being the most laid
back person I know, Jack, our son, for
helping me understand the meaning of life,
the list goes on and on…..!!
What are your unique selling points?
Truly honest and independent advice, a
fantastic choice of spectacle frames and
individual service that ensures every optical need is catered for.
What is your business motto?
Listen to your customer’s needs, advise
accordingly and respect their choices.
Always treat others as you would wish to be
treated yourself.
What has been your greatest business
challenge?
Setting up a complete business plan, shop fit and launch over such a short period.
Conception to launch took only four
months, minimal sleep and several grey
hairs!
What has been your greatest business
success?
Achieving so much positive feedback
which is resulting in the majority of our
new business coming from
recommendation alone.
Who are your customers?
We are very lucky to be located in an area
where residents are very supportive of local
businesses, but we have also attracted
customers from as far afield as Cheltenham,
Wiltshire and Dorset. Our customers are
people who appreciate the value of
professional advice and service.
What keeps your customers coming
back?
Our honest, helpful and friendly team who are here to ensure customers feel
comfortable and confident in their glasses or contact lenses.
What is the key to your success?
As independent opticians we have the
freedom to stock product to cater for
everyone regardless of age, gender, size or budget. The personal experience we give inspires loyalty which is the key to success for any Business.
What aspect of your business are you most proud of?
Knowing that we have pleased so many of our customers.
What keeps you motivated?
My passion to provide quality eye care at a fair price for people who wanted to be
treated as individuals.
What is the next step for your business?
To expand our reputation for the quality of our service and to continue to search for new designs which will inspire people to enjoy wearing their spectacles.
